Re: Twitchin Jigs... Gotta Have em!
I'm heading to Sportsmans Warehouse on lunch to pick up some twitchin jigs. Gonna try them out on the Green tomorrow for some piggy silvers. Interested to see how it goes. I've watched several videos to learn the technique and have been practicing the wrist twitch in my garage. Will post back in th...

Re: Twitchin Jigs... Gotta Have em!
I see a lot of talk about the jigs and twitching them. It seems to me that most posts and people who use this method do so from a boat. I am bank bound and curious if you can employ a "modified" twitch in the drift? Or should you only use this from the bank in more froggy water? I think you have to ...

Re: Nisqually Steelhead
Kinda off subject (thread is about the Nisqually)...but a couple weekends ago I'd finally had enough of guys fishing into the mouth of the White by Mama Stortinis in Puyallup. Every time I go out there, they stand on the point of that "bluff" and even wade out in a line facing into the mouth of the...

Re: SINGLE HOOKS
No prob. I fished it on labor day barbless and a buddy told me after I landed a hen king that its not barbless. We argued a bit but now I just always double check each time before going out. (I had lost a king prior to pulling that one in.)
I thought maybe I read it wrong.

Re: SINGLE HOOKS
Just rechecked them again for the fifth time. Checked them a couple times before the last post to make sure I was reading them right. Nothing about selective gear until Nov 1 like I said in prev post, and only from voights creek to hwy 162 bridge. It does have anti snagging rule but that just means ...

Re: SINGLE HOOKS
Carbon is not barbless. Anti snagging rule, but not barbless. From voights creek to hwy 162 bridge is selective gear rule, but that doesn't open until Nov 1st, and you wouldn't (couldn't) fish salmon. I would paste the rule in, but doing this from a knock off tablet so can't figure out how.

Re: SINGLE HOOKS
Puke is under anti snagging rule and always barbless. If you move into the carbon it loses the barbless requirement. I downloaded the PDF rules to my kindle app on my tablet and phone - comes in handy!

working a river
Still a novice at salmon, let alone steelies or other trout. I'm still trying to figure out how to read a river and learning ever so slowly how to use different techniques. Getting much better at working a spoon through a drift but not sure I have the vibrax spinners figured out yet. Definitely don'...

Sorry about the double post earlier. I didn't realize there was a delay for a mod to review.

Re: Coho lures
Question about the wiggle warts - I heard these were great for catching coho. I have a couple I already set up with the beaded chain swivel and siwash hook. Big question is about using these from bank casting. Do you use them where you normally use other drifting techniques? (Think corkies or spoons...

Re: Coho lures
I have a question about casting the brads wiggle warts. I just bought a new rod with a fast action, upgrade from a med fast, both are med backbone. Should I use the slower action for casting plugs? Also, havent figured out how to cast them in spots I would normally drift. I have kinda got the hang o...
