Plasti dip hooks?

Has anyone ever tried the spray on Plasti dip in red to make their own red treble hooks. I saw red plastic dipped hooks on a pike fishing show from Sweden and thought it looked like a good idea, but to buy them already made is super pricey. The only place I could find them was overseas at $11 a pack plus shipping for four 4/0 hooks. I know that's a lot of 4's lol. Any thoughts on this? I have never used Plasti dip and have to clue if you could spray a thin layer on a hook and if it would work.
