I'm trying to gather info before first time going out there maybe mid July.
I'm reading the regs and looking at the map.
My understanding from the regs is that you can actually fish the creek, where it dumps into cowlitz to the marker by? Is that correct?
Where does everyone park? The hatchery?

I have only been there once, so someone may have better info, but it looked like blue creek was just a little backwater that quickly turned to nothing. I doubt any fish would be in there, same with mill creek at barrier dam.
Just fish the river and park at the hatchery, there are quite a few spots along the bank walking down towards the creek, just past the creek it looked like it would start to require some bushwhacking. That way you can focus on rules about Cowlitz as the little creeks are way more restrictive in term of gear.

Yeah what you are telling me is pretty much what I saw on the maps as well.
Reading around, I'm understanding that when other fisherman state "blue creek" majority of them are fishing, like said, cowlitz below blue creek.

Park at the hatchery. you can bank fish up river of the boat launch and down river. Actually fishing blue creek I wouldn't try. For down river you have to fish 100 feet from the hatchery inlet at the handicap spot. Theres a sign that says where that line is.
