Green River Closed!

Post by nickbell » Mon Feb 01, 2010 7:50 pm

I got a new fly rod for christmas and i really wanted to get into fly fishing, and i thought that the green river would be a good place to use it because it has a lot of trout, and it has pretty clear water and a good fly hatch almost year round. Now we all have to wait untill june!

Nick you can Catch and Release on the Cedar River. Thats where I practice casting my fly rod. The other is the upper Snoqualmie.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

the cedar is closed until first sat of June. C&R from June to Oct

Snoqualmie is great to fish. the three forks park is running low and clear right now and the MF and SF are very low. I was out there this past weekend with a friend with no fish to show :/

its a nymph and streamer game right now so take a hand ful of wooly buggers!

if you want to do some good trout fly fishing right now, Yakima River is producing some nice fatty cutts and rainbows, along with whitefish.

for stillwater, Pass Lake, a fly fishing only lake, has some big browns and rainbows. Both are a bit of a drive, but if you're up for the drive, very fun to fish.
