Eastern Wa. Trout Fishing...?
I'm dying to go fishing. Are there any good spots near the Spokane County area that are good for trout this time of year considering the weather?

Define good...
Its slow everywhere until ice-off. Rock should be productive as far as that goes, and we find a few in Lake Spokane both at the little spo and out on the big end as well.
When the ice thins out and opens up, there are a plentitude of options, but thats in due time, and subject to lake closures.

For those that know Rock Lake, very very very well, it can be good this time of year.
Warning, most do not do well. Rock is very technique specific, color specific, and even if I told you how you MIGHT not do well.
I could show you how tomorrow, but I'd rather live to be an old man, and if I went out this Saturday and left my wife, she would kill me.

Too much water, so many fish, too little time.

Lowland lakes opening the first week in March. Get'em while they're hot!
Build a man a fire and he's warm for the night. Light a man on fire and he's warm the rest of his life!

Yeah, I wouldn't dare make that mistake myself.Anglinarcher wrote:I could show you how tomorrow, but I'd rather live to be an old man, and if I went out this Saturday and left my wife, she would kill me.

Any new body of water if hard to figure out at first, but give it a shot. I tryed Rock for the first time today and the reports about wind are no joke. That being said read the reports of the lake, go back to the begining and read them all but focus on the ones from this time of year. I tried it for the first time today, the wind was howling, but I did pick up a nice 16" rainbow trolling a 1/2 oz brown rooster tail. There were 2 guys fishing from the bank by the bridge said that they had 2 browns and a rainbow, 14-16". I might head back out there tomorrow or thursday, unless I can find a better spot near Spokane
