Give back, take the less fortunate fishing

I remember reading a post several months ago about a member in the Spokane area who took a person diagnosed with cancer fishing at Loon Lake. The story started me thinking about the less fortunate and how something as routine as a fishing trip can bring smiles, especially with kids. A lot of kids love to fish but don't have the means to do so. Over the last several years, I have had the opportunity to take several kids fishing and nothing is more rewarding than seeing a smile on their faces when they catch a really nice fish!

There are 4 kids in my neighborhood who have frequently gone fishing with me as they have grown up. I agree, there is nothing quite like it. For at least 2 of them, I was able to see them catch their first fish and for all, they more than doubled their lifetime catches. I only have a 12' boat, nothing fancy, but for spring and fall trout fishing, its great. If you get a chance to offer the opportunity to someone, especially a kid, I highly recommend it.
