Northwest Fishing Reports

I am wondering if anyone has caught a triploid in the smaller of the 3 beaver lakes. The far one to the right of the county park has fish and they were jumping like crazy yesterday. I saw one that must have been 4 pounds jump straight out of the water near the shore presumingly for flies. Has anyone fished Beaver recently for Trips, and if so has anyone tried the 11 acre lakes that is connected to the main lake? Access in tough, but there is one good drop in place for a float tube or small boat. Reports from Beaver Lake have been discouraging of late, but I am wondering if anyone has fished that other 11 acre lake and caught anything worth mentioning.

That lake is not too good for trout...Wouldn't try there...Make the trip to Rattlesnake if you want a shot at bigger fish...

Yeah, but it seems to put out a 3pounder everytime I go there. It's seems to hold up well.

I got a better lake that pushes out better fish then Beaver....1.5 lbs maybe 2 on average.... Some 22+" here and there...Went there this morning, didn't get ONE under 15" and got a few over 18"...15-17 fish or so in an hour and a half between me and two buddies out on my boat....

Read my report on Beaver. Even though they were spring fish, they were fat, but not extremely fat so I am wondering if they are trips. I think the recently planted triploids have not discovered the north lake yet, which we were fishing yesterday.

Those little streams are very small...A fish could get through them though, but it's pretty rare to see trout going into that shallow of water....

I always heard that the trips liked deeper water

The north lake is deeper than the regular lake, but you are right about the south lake. I saw a good size trout once in 5 feet of water under a dock while fishing for perch once. I am sure it was a trout and not a bass. I have seen enough to know.

I meant those liittle canals going to those other lakes...Gotta be a prretty adventurous trout to go through those little spots...the south lake is like a foot and a half deep for a hundred feet going back to that lake...

i was back in the smaller lake the other day by the park. lots of lillypads. im gonna have to get out there with my fish finder and check it out!

Oh yeah, you're right about that. I know about the canals, but it only takes a few trout to get a population going back there in the north lake...as for the south lake, I agree, I don't think a trout would live there, constantly in shallow water.
