Lake Sawyer Help
Gotta admit to being clueless with this lake and coming home fishless.
Getting my grandson onto something tasty on our backyard lake is something I really need to do. (It's only 10 miles away)
We want to target the perch and crappie. What, where, when, how??????
Have a good boat and there's always an open seat for anyone who can help with this fish-loaded lake.

RE:Lake Sawyer Help
I do not know this lake but one thing to try is a night crawler and a slip bobber rig and fishing around cover (shaded) areas and points. Keep the crawler about a foot off the bottom and cast it let it fall give it a slow pull 2 or 3 feet let it fall and repeat. This should help you find some fish. You may have to move around until you find the school but then it is fish on and doubles:cheers:

RE:Lake Sawyer Help
Definitley look for downed trees in the water for crappie. small flashy jigs worked well for me out there no bobber just casted and jigged in.

im not to sure about sawyer im not to familiar with the perch there but i always just go anywhere from 10-20 ft deep with a worm right off the bottom or cast next to lillies with a bobber just off bottom
Today she met me at the door, said I would have to choose, if I picked up that fishing rod today, she'd be packing all her things and she'd be gone by noon....well I'm gonna miss her when I get home
RE:Lake Sawyer Help
Not sure on Lake Sawyer, but if you're in maple valley:
On Lake Morton a couple weeks ago we were catching fish trolling wedding rings, rooster tails, and flatfish around the lake. We also had nibbles but no landed fish by docks all around.
Also people casting as far as they can fishing power bait off the bottom were catching at the boat launch.
On Deep lake the same things work, and at Lake Twelve in Black Diamond you can also catch blue gill, crappie, and sunfish along with the trout and bass.

Try wedding rings tipped with worm. Troll around the launch and to the left. The Trips were hanging in that area a couple weeks ago.
