New To Seattle for a visit

Post by okhawaja » Sat Sep 29, 2012 8:55 pm

Hi All!

I am new to Seattle and I live near lake Larsen. I came to seattle to visit some family members for about a month so I am here till Nov 4th. I travelled from Mississauga, Canada. I am a pretty die hard fisherman and I have been fishing salt water since I was 7 years old. In mississauga I had to leave salmon season to catch my flight to seattle. I am not able to bring my float rod or reel with me on my flight so I brought my other setup which is spinning rod and reel along with some rapala crank baits and common spoons...I also have some floats since I did drift fishing mostly in mississauga. I am looking forward to perhaps hook some decent sized fish here but dont know anything at all about the fishing here so I hope to get some guidance. I didnt bring my wader here so I would be fishing from shore. I am a quick learner and very motivated. I dont know where to get started or what places to fish for some decent fish.

Below are few of my fish from this month's fishing in mississauga:

I am not sure of what boat services are provided here but I wouldn't mind giving something reasonable a try...I am a student in my university program so I do have a strict budget which I cannot go past.

The Duwamish river is a spot in town (Seattle) that right now has coho salmon in it and has shore spots to fish. There's a thread in the river section. That may be a good bet for you. Good luck!
