Does anyone know if any salmon caught in Lake Sammamish needs to be fin clipped or not? I went through the regs and could not find anything that told me.

Caught or kept? You have no real control what you CATCH, only what you KEEP.

For Sammamish, you can keep any coho or chinook you catch, they don't have to be clipped. Though the likely hood of you catching an unclipped fish is practically zero. What is interesting is that there is no statement this year requiring the release of sockeye, I think this is an oversight or they consider any sockeye in Sammamish to be a kokanee which can't be kept. It would be prudent to get clarification on this as one can pick up sockeye in the lake quite easily.

The regs say 'release sockeye' page 65.
Oh ya, it's after the 'salmon' species. And after the 'trout' species it says 'release kokanee'.

Not sure what I was looking at, I just re-read the Sammamish regs and plain as day it says release sockeye.

Like when I go to the store and can't find something, like the milk. Ask someone and they find it right away.

I'll be very interested to see how you do. Some guys have cracked the code, but it can be tough fishing otherwise. And frustrating, because you will see constant fish marks.

Went out today with about 10 other boats on the water. I only stayed from 6:30-10:30 and did not see anyone catch anything except me. It wasn't salmon but a nice 16" 2# cutthroat. I caught it on a K14 blue kwikfish.

I got lucky and caught myself a very nice silver last year trolling for trout during the fall. Fin was clipped.

They don't bite in there. I have tried everything. Back in the day at the mouth of the slew in kenmore we used to get a few kings jiggin a buzz bomb. But they close that up now too.
