Carpinitos will be closing down soon.If you dont know who and where it is its in Kent on Central Ave.This is where I buy almost all my summer fall produce from. Not only is mostly grown in the Kent Auburn valley but its far better then any grocery store produce. For instance I've been buying leaf lettuce all summer at .75 a head. These are big fanned heads of lettuce.Their green beans and Italian shelling beans are the best. Now I'm buying heads of cabbage for a buck a head or Cauliflower for the same. You can buy fresh beets or beets w/ greens. If you do the shopping or cooking in the house ,this place is a must know. They only stay open till T day.Open again in the spring.Besides produce there is a nursery and farm supply.Pellets for stoves and bark and soils.I just bought the nicest green and red leaf lettuce .Even in Nov. its crispy and fresh. One of my favorites is brussel sprouts which I buy on the stalk. Also their spinach is great.Go by and look.

Agreed, this is a good place to shop. I cant believe the size of a head of cabbage for $0.99. HUGE!

2 more weeks and our locally grown, pasture raised beef will be ready to stuff in the freezer.

Eat Locally Grown

sorry to hear that.
we have the same thing happing down here. we have a place located in the middle of vancouver called joes place. they are closing because the city [-x wants to build a bike / hiking trail through the middle of there fields (owned by the bpa). the back room deal that was done by the city was pretty crappy as usual. the city :money: down here is very unfriendly :^o to small businesses.they dont care about the only "city farm in town" . it just sucks.

I was there on Sunday .The lettuce is still fantastic.I bought red leaf and greenleaf. The romaine looked great also but was 1.49 a head. The brussel sprouts are exceptionally good. So good I put up 8 pints and two quarts of pickled B. sprouts. The cabbage at .19 a pound was great. The cabbage heads are huge and firm. The Fuji apples are at the height of juiciness and sweetness now. There is still lots of local produce left including Greens ie..collard,mustard,and turnip greens, also squash at 1.00 -1.50 a squash.and beets.I stocked up bigtime. Until next weekend.
