Area 9 crab grounds, anyone, please?

Post by Dave » Sun Nov 14, 2010 1:10 pm

Hi all,

I am hoping someone might be willing to share with us either in the forums or with me privately (selfish I know), a productive location in area 9 for Dungeness crab. I know it's a lot to ask so I understand if those of you with area 9 experience are tight lipped about it. If someone is willing to PM me with a productive location, I would be happy to return the favor with a spot or two in area 8-1 that are tried and true. Thanks in advance.

Dave

Ive crabbed area 9 some My cuz has property on the water over yonder. I must admit you were very tight lipped when I asked about 8.1 last year.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

I tried at Possession point on Monday but was only able to crab for 1.5 hours due to the building wind and waves. Had 2 pots in the water in the 120ft range and only came away with one crab. Talked to one other boater that said they came from just south of Shipwreck and only got one crab that they had to throw back. Will have to try again when the weather is a little better.

I'll do my best not to be offended by your comment. I would never make this request if I wasn’t willing to return the favor by sharing my crab spots with a member who asked me privately. In fact your request doesn't ring a bell with me or sound like me at all IF you asked me for a hot spot privately. In fact I’ve shared some of my best crabbing, salmon, and sturgeon spots with several members who have asked me privately. Feel free to re-send me the PM you are referring to, I’d love to see it! Like most, I am however hesitant to give out hot spot information in the general forums for the world to read.

Dave,
My apologies on not getting back to you via that PM. Will send you one by end of this week, had a lot of stuff pop up this week and haven't been able to get back to you with some detailed info regarding crabbing grounds...

Thanks Jeff,

I didn't want to post a request in the forums but when I didn't hear back from you, knowing you were likely very busy, I put out the request, and was rewarded with some kind PM’s and one uneducated implied derogatory comment in the process. One very kind member PM’ed me a couple times to discuss areas we could try in area 9 so with your permission, I would like to share your information with him as well. Your call though. Your PM is very much appreciated Jeff and as always, I am happy to return the favor anytime. Thanks again, I hope all is well and I look forward to seeing you out on the water this coming summer. You da man!!!
