seeking advice from experienced crayfish fisher

I have had limited success here in King county. I tried Lake Larsen in about 4 feet of water in the lily pads, got 1 red swamp crayfish. I tried Phantom Lake in about 2-3 feet of water, again in lily pads, got nothing. I've tried Lake Washington in both about 10, and about 15 feet of water, by Magnussen Park. Got 1 Signal Crayfish in 10 feet of water, 3 Signal Crayfish in 15 feet of water. I've also tried Lake Ballinger up on the county line, and there I've caught Northern Crayfish from 3 feet of water up to about 10 feet of water, and also 1 in the creek in the old golf course.
Long story short, I dont know much about crayfish habitat. What is the best depth? Do they live out any deeper? A two minute writeup of your generic advice would be appreciated. Or a link to a solid guide that is useful for western WA.
Thank you.
