Any suggestions for East Whidbey Pink fishing????????

Post by troylangdon » Thu Aug 18, 2011 4:47 pm

Family is hanging our hats at the Langley Harbor this weekend. Looking to get my boys into some pinks, without burning $150 in fuel to get to the West side. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, we have no downriggers so any suggestions about drifting??? Anchoring??? Well anything really!!!!!!! Thanks all....

You could try jigging off the cans at the mouth of the Snohomish or run up to just below Kayak Point Park. Throw jigs at the finners and jumpers in the small bays there. Stay a long cast away from them and cast to them. If you run over them they'll go down and out and won't bite. The Langley section of the rock isn't a very good summer/fall salmon spot. Winter is another story.

Or drive over to the west side of the island and fish off the beaches there. All of 15-20 minutes from Langley.

Bush or Lagoon Point put out many many humpies this time of year.

Thanks guys for your input....We are taking our boat to Langley, so the drive to the West side is not possible. I had heard Bush point was the ticket, but with no harbors on that side of the island, and a wimpy wife (who refuses to anchor!!!) I guess I will just let the boys catch some doggies, and flounder... Bummer................

Drive from Langley harbor to humpy hollow would be all of 10-15 minutes depending on water conditions. Troll flasher/squid behind crescent sinker around all the other boats if you don't have downriggers
