OMG#-o Got up this morning and it was snowing......hard. By the time it was over this afternoon, we got another 11". Forecast for the next week is for..........snow. We shattered the all time record for a one month snow total. I have lived in Spokane since 1960 and can't remember a winter like this since 1968. I think we will bypass the "Winter of '68", because it has just begun.

Even though it is a pain to deal with, I do have to admit when the sun shines, it is pretty. We are running out of places to put the snow. 30 roofs have collapsed in the Spokane area since this all began. I am now checking with the manager of a business to see if they are removing the snow before I go into a building. New and old buildings are coming down.

Those bird feeder roofs are holding up a lot better than some of the roofs in Spokane! Great photos, especially the one of the old barn.
Beautiful dog. Looks like he is having a great time.

Wenatchee Valley photos taken this morning 8:00 AM 01/07/09. Notice the rainbow.
The outside temp is 50 degrees. Wind gusts last night reached 100mph at Mission Ridge ski area. We are expecting high winds today with gusts up to 50mph.

GOOD LUCK SPOKANE

So far, we are getting somewhat of a gradual melt. Streets are flooded in areas. Damaged my new F-150 on the side panel last night trying to get onto Francis. I stepped on the gas coming out of the Five Mile parking lot, slid sideways into a piled of snow and buckled the right side of my bed#-o . I think a good body man could take it out without much problem. It still turns my crank!!! I'm staying off the streets for a couple of days til the ice is gone.
Tonight we are suppose to get a lot of rain and wind. Getting the snow off my roof has payed off. No damage or leaks. Our Mayor didn't take the snow off her roof and got up the other morning and discovered a sheet of running water going down her kitchen wall.
The west side is going to be a gigantic mess........good luck.

If you feel like driving to Spangle, I know a good bodyman that could handle that for you.

Believe it or not, I thought about you for that, Phil. I called my insurance man today, explained that it is mainly cosmetic, no creases or damaged paint. Probably a couple of hours of work. He told me that it would go against my collision coverage, $200.00 deductible.
O.K., I could deal with that. I asked him how that would effect my insurance. He told me that I would lose my "accident free" rating and that my premiums would increase by $500.00/year for the next three years. So, for $1,700 my insurance company would gladly take care of it. I have an 40 year absolute accident free driving record and my last ticket was in 1970 for driving 8 mph over the speed limit. What a slap in the face! I don't think so!:-"

Spangle is a nice little pleasant drive, Phil. I'll keep that in mind.:thumleft:
