I think this is a good idea. What is your plan for a format? Photos, tying instructions, materials list?

Come on you guys. All we need is one more. If you've never tried a swap, give it a try. You might like it. All new flies tied by friends at WL.com.

I'd be glad to join in, but the only problem is my current place of residence is Rome, Italy, which would make it a bit difficult (though not impossible) to participate. If you cannot find anyone else to join in, and do not mind giving me a bit of extra time to get the flies sent out, I could tie up a few for the swap. Let me know. Pace.

This sounds fun, details?

Would one person tie up a dozen of a pattern and mail a couple off to each memeber of the swap? That would be cool to get flies in the mail. I think you could even mail the flies in a first class envelope so it wouldn't be too expensive.

Who wants to start organizing a list with names? One person would need to create a master mailing list which would be PMed to each participating fly tier and then when you complete your flies you mail them out to everyone on the list.

Beresford, Marc? volunteers?

Mike, ill take this one by the horns, ill start a new post, get people signed up, and ill send out my address via PM, you sernd me your dozen (or how ever many join, max will be set at 12, so i normaly tie 12 regardless, and extras will randomly be sent you to participance.)

looks like we got 6-8 people interested, therefore ill get a new post up by monday, we will try to complete by Xmas.
so all look out for new "official post" for this swap and get tying, this time it will be ANY wet fly. next time we can get spacific.

Mark.

I think as you get guys signing up you should post the names and have them commit to a fly to tie - that way we won't have everyone tying up whooley buggers. I am going to start early and put in dibs for one of my favorite nymphs, the Montana nymph. Also, I think locking this event at the first twelve is a good idea.

This is going to be fun, having a bunch of flies come in the mail! So your plan is to have everyone send the flies to you and then you are turning around and mailing them to everyone when you have the twelve sets? If that is the case, we should all include $2 with our flies so you have money to mail them out again (I think you would need to buy a small bubble mailer for each set of twelve). I wouldn't want you to be stuck with the mailing cost. It's enough that you're keeping track and mailing everything back out.

Thanks!

I think that you should up that amount to $4.00- $5.00
The bubble wrap envelopes are about $2.00 and because they are thicker than a regular envelope, the postal rates go up. I found that out mailing you the DVD's of the Lake Videos.
