Lost Keys - Lake Tapps
Lost Keys. They were lost while tubing on Lake Tapps. The attached pic shows the location where they were lost.
Im going to be buying some gear to aid in this recovery effort but that is going to take some time but I have some 1-off keys I need badly. Help....
Yea, I know... shoulda left them on the boat.

Try a treble hook on a line like snaggers do and dredge that area would be my best guess of snorkle it.I keep floatation rings on my keys and glasses.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

Ra, that stinks. Good luck on getting them back.
Idea - you can buy retrieval magnets that have an eye loop on them to tie a rope to (retrieval magnet). I used to have one that I would drag along the bottom around the fishing piers until it got snagged at Mukilteo and I had to cut the rope. Besides being handy and picking up lost gear, I would occasionally get a knife or some fishing gear from it. Even picked up a crab ring one time, but once the ring cleared the water, the magnet wasn't strong enough to hold onto it, so down it would go. Bummer when I lost it (the magnet). It was a fun pass time when I'd crab off the piers. Might be able to get lucky in your search.

Im hoping that area was alwayse lake bed. The Large Treb drug accross the bottom is in the plans but Tapps has so many stumps and such, Im afraid I'd just be throwing trebs away. Tha magnet was my next best choice. Im considering free diving but scuba would be better. Just need to borrow the gear (yes, Im certified PADI)
Any body got a fish cam they wanna test out at 30 feet?
Swede, Yea Right. I know you dont have them. It would have been hard to miss I big blonde dude in an, over powered, twin engine, jet boat... trolling for keys.

Swede, I don't believe you'd fish for anything you couldn't fillet! LOL :joker:RaMcVey wrote:Swede, Yea Right. I know you dont have them. It would have been hard to miss I big blonde dude in an, over powered, twin engine, jet boat... trolling for keys.![]()

Yea, that map is real close. It covers a couple acres. I was moving at a pretty good clip, for being on an innertube. I got tossed a few feet in the air and was doing acrobatics in the process. From what I was told.
I didnt realize the keys were gone until we had already recovered me, and moved the boat.
If the LockSmith can pull a miracle, then this will be a non issue. Sure hate my Connie to turn into a 600 pound paperweight.

Lets make a derby out of it.You have an older "Chriis Connie".That would be nice to see.

RE:Lost Keys - Lake Tapps
I didnt get the keys back, but thanks to the help of Bills Locksmith in Kent, I now have a copy of all keys lost... except the work key

RE:Lost Keys - Lake Tapps
:thumleft: Glad to hear you got copies....who knows, your original keys could be in a Tiger Muskie's gut somewhere!
