Hey Mike/Aaron,
I was thinking about inviting someone from the Forum to go fishing Rufus Woods with me in my boat and I stopped short because I was unsure of the person’s age. I enjoy fishing with folks that are in my peer group (Age 51) and having an age block on the profile page could speed things up and help me to avoid asking the embarrassing question "Hey...how old are you?"
Anyway…Just a thought.

In light of all of the wife comments...Now I know for sure I don't want to be the one to ask someones age...
:-$ LOL, and what if like me, You would have to be concerned about weight limits. GEEZE, talk about a NO NO. never ask the "how much do you weigh question":-" .
#-o SORRY for the diversion. Still the original question is valid, and everyone has different preferences, when it comes to sharing Close (boat) space for any amount of time.

Or the dreaded "When is your baby due?"

Bragging may not bring happiness, but no man having caught a large fish goes home through an alley.

Wow Bob, I never realized you were that old. #-o I was guessing the light side of 50.. :bigsmurf:

If you converse with an individual regularly it shouldn't be to hard to ask their age easy enough. Nothing against kids, I have a few of those things my self, but you can typically tell who is younger. IMO. My wife is the one who really loves to fish so always have a partner at the ready, and if she aint game then 2 boys in line also.

Aint nothing wrong with meeting at a public fishing spot but I would be leery of the liability issues of taking a minor out on a boat thats not one of yours.

It happened to me this year also. I was invited to go with a minor fishing and picking berries. I felt funny about it so I did not go out there. I feel bad that we must watch who we hang out with but in the news you hear about strange stuff all the time. I know with a few exceptions that at 56 yo I could be one of the senior members here. Its too bad in todays society that we must watch out who we fish with but I feel its better to be careful then not be.Besides I'm allergic to shotguns and the greybar motel.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

Hey, Well I updated my public profile with my age. Suppose that works for the paid members!

Now we just need a weight checkbox :)

This boat might be getting a wee small for me.

(no thats not me) Please invite me out on all of your boating excursions :)
