And course they will just write a ticket and let the courts settle it. It's just the way they do things. Best policy if your "campmate" doesn't want a ticket is to spend the money and register the boat if it's going to have a motor. The campmate can then run the boat anywhere without question. I'm ...

The term is Navigable Waters. Last Sockeye season, a campmate was warned by the WDFW officer that he was in violation of the rules by not having his 12' inflatable with a 3hp outboard registered when operating on Baker Lake, since it was Federal Waters. I'm fishing Cannon Mini Lake trollers and they work fine for Kokane and Sockeye. They aren't made for over 6# balls and I am happy with 4# for mine. I just switched to braided downrigger line on them and it got rid of the "buzz" and gave me less angle in the water.
