St. Joe River Outing

Post by Lotech Joe » Mon Aug 24, 2009 7:56 pm

This Friday I'll be heading out for the St. Joe River in Northern Idaho for a 3 day weekend. Hopefully I'll find some more hungry cutthroat trout.

Wish me luck.

Looks like a great place to be even if they aren't biting. Good luck out there Joe!
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Lol. I've fished the exact run where the first pic was taken. Didn't catch anything in it however.......... When I fished the stream in '08, I caught probably 20 fish, alot of them were small (like 6-8"). The deeper pools is where the bigger fish (16"-18") were holding. I used mainly Royal patterns the whole day. The 'Throats aren't very selective in the Joe. Keep in mind, I fished above the town of Avery. And from what I;ve heard, it's better to fish below Avery, because there's more and larger fish.
