Wanapum Dam

Does anyone know where the best place to put in at Wanapum dam ? Above dam or below ? This will be my first time there..

On the bottom side of the dam is best for fishing. The launch is a long single lane with no dock at the bottom. This time of year the waters running high so the launching is much easier but it's going to take two people to safely get your boat in the water. Also the water below the dam is running similar to ocean conditions lots of the time so be careful.
