Handicap access?
Are there any spots where my friend in a wheelchair can fish for steelhead?
RE:Handicap access?
My first guess would be state parks. They are ussually pretty good about their acces points. I have never been to flamming gyser but I would imagine they would have something. Spokane street ( for future refrences) is a great place for a wheel chair bound fisherman. In fact, I have seen plenty people fish out of wheel chairs there. But like I said this probally isnt going to be a good fishing spot until next season, and its not the best place for steel head either
RE:Handicap access?
you might check with the wdfw they should have some info on handicap accessibility
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga, except i still get to kill something.

Somebody can correct me because I haven't been there in years, I thought I heard that they have an area at blue creek thats for handicapped only now?
RE:Handicap access?
Well, it's definitely not a cheap option, but getting your friend in a boat would be the best way to get access to the river.

Depends on the size of the boat. All in all...the WDFW has done a good job of accessibility for those that are disabled.Drewp wrote:Well, it's definitely not a cheap option, but getting your friend in a boat would be the best way to get access to the river.
RE:Handicap access?
All the accessible rivers have no fish is what it seems like, he was going to head down to blue creek but couldn't find time. We got him out on a boat for lk washington sockeye after he got paralyzed but it was tough lifting him in/out of the boat. Does anyone know of anywhere on the op for him to fish?
