To swivel or not to swivel?
Ok I am not a spoon tosser. So Im not that knowledgable on the setup. I was thinkin maybe I should use a barrel swivel on the split ring of the spoon. So if someone is knowing of the setup of spoon tossin and might give me some incite on it. Should I just tie the spoon straight to my line or should I add a barrel swivel between them.
More fish please!

RE:To swivel or not to swivel?
add the swivel. i have heard of snap swivels opening up on big fish so i switched mine to just barrel swivels on the split ring. without a swivel your line will twist up pretty bad.
RE:To swivel or not to swivel?
A swivel will help prevent line twist. If I were going to use one, I would probably use either a barrell or a swivel with a duolock attachment on the other end. Typically, I tie directly to the spoon without a swivel and experience little line twist. However, that may be because I use a baitcast reel. I have noticed more line twist when using spinning gear.

RE:To swivel or not to swivel?
I use snap swivels when fishing for steelhead and haven't lost a fish. I have found using 1/4 oz spoons with 10lb test finding the correct size of swivel is necessary (too big doens't allow the lure to move like it should). My set up is 8lb Trilene Maxx, I believe its #10 or 12 snap swivel (don't quote me, i can't remember the size) and 1/4 oz little cleo spoon. Thats the ticket for me on my size of the mtns.

RE:To swivel or not to swivel?
Yeah snap swivel is a bad idea I know that. I tried without a barrel swivel first and watched the action of the spoon and then I did it with one. It looks much better with one. I think ill stick with the barrel swivels.
More fish please!
RE:To swivel or not to swivel?
For spoons w/o split rings, add one then use a tiny Berkley (or other quality swivel) barrel swivel. A small barrel swivel can also be added to blue foxes to prevent line twists
