Looking for some good shore fishing near Kirkland, WA

Post by DBorland » Sun May 27, 2012 8:18 pm

Hey all, I'm new to fishing the area and was looking if there were any good places to fish of the shore near Seattle? I'm looking to stay w/i an hour or so of the area, but since I don't have a boat, my choices are somewhat limited.

Thanks!

In the black header thingy at the top of the page, put your cursor on lakes, a drop down appears, drop your cursor to county lake index, click it, a state map pops up, click on King Co, lots of lakes pop up with their corresponding reports. Given the info that you've provided, Kirkland/Seattle, that's a good place to start. Most lakes in the area, except Lake Washingto/Union, have received catchable rainbow trout 10-11" this year. Green Lake and Ballinger seem to be fishing well lately according to the reports..... Lots more are doing well also. There is no shortage of trout right now. Grab a map, look at lakes you are willing to go to, look up the reports and see how that goes. Power bait, power eggs, worm and marshmallow, lures of various types are working currently. Let me know if this has helped or not. Mark

Thanks Mark! I went out to Pine Lake in Sammamish and caught a nice Rainbow! I almost had 2 but forgot the trout are so jumpy and it jumped right off the hook at the dock. I used some red salmon eggs and seemed to get pretty good action being it was a very slow afternoon.

Thanks again!

Lake Margaret in Duvall. Good shore fishing, mostly for bottom and float rigs.

Crescent in South Monroe. I've caught several largemouth bass from shore at that lake throwing floating stick baits ( Rapala F-7, and F-9 ). Summer months are best for floaters.

Lost ( Devil's ) Lake, Monroe. Several largemouth bass were caught last year, throwing floating stick baits ( Rapala F-9 ). Again, summer months are best for floaters.
