Skinny Water jet Boating Up North
Build a man a fire and he's warm for the night. Light a man on fire and he's warm the rest of his life!
Re: Skinny Water jet Boating Up North
Watched the whole thing. COMPLETELY NUTS! Especially when I just took the Washington Safety Boating Class.
I wonder how long the hull has before it's just tin can.

The boat was designed to do that. .25 and .50 bottom with .50 of UHMW over the aluminum.

Re: Skinny Water jet Boating Up North
Was going to add onto Kzoo's comment and ask you Bodo about how those things can handle that beating... I'd imagine that aluminum thickness on the hull has to be pretty rigid compared to the standard aluminum boats around here (Weldcraft, Alumaweld, Hewes, etc) and those intake grates gotta be pretty tough too??
Looks like fun to me.....

Dang that looks fun! One of the best 5 min I ever spent on youtube

Re: Skinny Water jet Boating Up North
Absolutely nuts!!! I would not mind going on a ride like that but it would have to be someone else's boat!
Re: Skinny Water jet Boating Up North
Big logs, big rocks, even straight over land! Coolest craziest video ever!

Why all the hate 'in? That's the kind of rivers they have up north and the kind of boats it takes to run them.

WHOA! That is one fun looking trip!
When you ride with that guy and he says "Hold On!"...he's serious, you should listen.

Bodo, Just curious to ask what is the alarm sound that you hear when he goes over basicly what is dry ground? Is it an alarm saying that there is not enough water in the jet, i.e. warning. Or some kind of a stability alarm?
It is interesting to look carefully at the surrounding shoreline flying by.... those of us who drive any kind of boat on the water only know, this guy is REALLY moving. Those bushes were flying by.![Woot [woot]](./images/smilies/msp_w00t.gif)

My guess it was loss of water pressure alarm.

Probably cooling water to the heat exchanger. I can't see loosing oil pressure going over gravel.....
