Lake Sammamish North End Access??
Lake Sammamish North End Access??
I am curious to know if there is access / ramp to the north end of lake sammamish. It's a long and sometimes nerving motor in a 12 ft flatty and a 9.9hp motor from the south end.

Ask at that ski boat place on the north east corner of the lake. Maybe they'll let you use their launch for a small fee. There is suppose to be a place in those condo like buildings on the north west corner also. I think someone said there is a small launch in the 'Sammamish Slew/river' just upstream from the lake.

Does your boat require a trailer launch? If not there is a hand launch about 1500' from the mouth of the Samammish river (near the Lake Samammish side or course) it only takes you a minute to get into the lake. If you in fact can hand launch your boat, send me a PM and I'll find your more specific directions.
Edit: Just go to Google Maps,, and input: NE 50th St, Redmond, King, Washington 98052
in the search line. The hand launch is right in directly from that flagged point within the google map search.

Idylwood Beach Park, offers "Canoe Launch". If you boat is carryable you may be able to launch there. http://www.redmond.gov/cms/one.aspx?por ... ageId=4105

Idylwood is on the lake itself, the launch Quad is talking about is actually in the Sammamish slew/river. It is a part of Marymore Park and is used by the Sammamish rowing club. I've used t a few times to launch my little toon & kick out to the north end lilly pads for some Largemouth top-water frog action.Rich McVey wrote:Idylwood Beach Park, offers "Canoe Launch". I think Im refering to the same place Quad is refering to.
The parking lot is about 100 yards from the launch and is big enough to park a small trailer. There are no motors allowed in the slew/river, so you would have to paddle your way out to the lake and back. Might want to scout it out before going just to make sure it is doable. Also might want to give WDFW a call and see if there is a problem with you going that route if you have a motor on your boat (even if it isn't used while in the slew/river).

Its been years but up between the Toketi Apts. and the Villa Marina Apts there was a launch. They used to let folks launch there. Now I am talking about the 70's. Maybe its still there maybe not. Its on the Western side of the lake almost at the mouth of the slough.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

Thanks for all of the replies. My boat is on a trailer and I usually go with my oldest son so toting boat, engine, and gear would be interesting at best. I will try the ski boat place.

You could also try Vasa Park on the west side of the lake. It is a private park, not sure what they charge...Rollo1002 wrote:Thanks for all of the replies.
