hound hunting
just wondering if anybody on the site hunts with hounds. maybe raccoons or etc?. would love to go with somebody one night or a day hunt. i grew up running hounds for bear, cougar, and raccoons. with my grandfather down in oregon.

If you love something set it free if it don't come back hunt it down and kill it.
RE:hound hunting
I thought hunting with hounds was banned in Washington? Or does it depend on what your hunting for?
Cast first, worry later.
RE:hound hunting
spindog, hound hunting for cougar and blackbear was banned in 1996, but has made a bit of a restricted comeback. I'm not sure about using hounds to hunt small game though (i.e. racoon). However, we use dogs to hunt ducks and upland game. While pheasant hunting, I've had a good bird dog come out of the cover with a pheasant in it's mouth. No gun needed. Unfortunately one time it was a hen, but the dog was a very good bird dog with a soft mouth and no damage was done to the bird. Let her go and off she flew.
