You're right. I've got something that works, and works well. Like any product made, failures can occur. I was highlighting the fact the company stood behind their product even though I couldn't provide proof of purchase. I don't know about you, but for me, $80 for a net isn't cheap.

They don't offer a net that meets my particular needs.

The replacement handle arrived yesterday, and not only did they send a replacement, they sent me one of their improved ones as well.

First rate net and a first rate company! [thumbsup]

Yep, digging this up from the past again, but only because we've added a new hoop. After a couple year's use the coated feature of the original net seems to have worn away, but the good news is EGO came out with a lightweight rubber net - http://www.egos2slider.com/S2_accessories.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

After fighting with hooks buried in the mesh on our last Roosevelt trip, I'd had enough. I ordered the new hoop (medium clear rubber) and when I opened the box and lifted it out, it doesn't weigh any more than the original. [thumbsup]

Anxious to give it a work out when the temps warm up a bit. Wednesday's high is supposed to be 41° so if all goes well I'll post follow-up next week. [wink]

Those look really awesome! They had a rack of them at the local Cabelas and got to give it a good try in the store. It's going to be my next net for sure.

Going up today to check water lines after last week's deep freeze and will take the new hoop with me. I'll hang new and old on the digital fish scale for a more precise weight comparison. If the forecast holds, it'll get a fish test Wednesday. [wink]

Fingers crossed! It's been cold here, bet it's really cold there! It's getting to be winter rainbow season, the big boys are coming out. I took Sickbayer and one of our buddies out on La Wa on Saturday and they both hooked nice pound and a halfers. Not bad for a mid day boat ride. I'll fish next time...... =)

On the left is our old hoop with the with the "Non-tangle/hook free PVC rubber coated UV resistant nylon" net. Hanging from the digital fish scale it weighs 14ozs. On the right is the new hoop with "Clear non-tangle/hook free rubber mesh" net. It weighs 17ozs. Weight is a non-issue, important for my wife.

Water lines all good thanks to heat tape on the pipe. Per my IR thermometer, exterior pipe temp was 40° with an ambient outside air temp of 22°.

We caught several in the 3lb range the end of Oct. Looking forward to getting out on Wednesday. [thumbup]

New hoop passed the "on water" test with flying colors. Scooped 2 limits of nice 'bows at Roosevelt yesterday without a single stuck hook. The shorter "bag" makes it easy to dump the fish right into the cooler too! :cheers:

I cannot tell the difference, weight wise, between the new hoop and the original. Now, if could just get my fishing buddy to understand he doesn't need to extend the net 9' to try and scoop a rainbow, all will be good. :-" [laugh]
