Nebraska fishing

Post by Gringo Pescador » Mon Jun 10, 2013 6:01 pm

I left Seattle on June 1st to head back to the family ranch in Nebraska for some visiting and to pick up a 1/2 beef. It was hard to drive into that sunrise knowing that so many of my friends were throwing their 1st casts into newly opened rivers.

But I have been able to scratch the itch while I have been here. Hit my aunt/uncle's 5 acre "pond" and caught around 100 largies in 2 days (ranging from 5" to 4#) as well as getting my brother on his 1st bass.

Also been Walleye fishing at the local reservoir where I am netting nice ones for others and loosing mine at the boat (25"er and another I didn't even get to see #-o )

Here are a few pics

The 1st is my brother's 21" Walleye and the other two are picture worthy bass from "The pond"

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Yeah except he got the height gene that missed me. It's been fun cause I've been trying to get him on the water with me but it doesn't interest him much. He has been having some stellar luck this trip, it was a blast watching him hit bass after bass and then hooking up on that Walleye had him all amped up so I am hoping it'll stick :-$

Oneshot - I wondered about your chest, you hit that boat HARD dude!

Nice looking trip gringo! What a good time. I have to get my bro on a real fish this summer.
