I want to get into chum action. More for sport and not for harvesting. I was told they taste like dirty socks. Hopefully the reports keep on coming in.

My go to is a bigger sized green corkie and and pink yarn. I have taken them on plenty other corkie/yarn combos. My buddy swears by a black corkie and purple yarn. I have also taken a few on jigs too. Head down to kendey creek the first couple weeks in Nov. lights out chum action

Starting to show around the typical passing points.
For saltwater, SalmonU has a great article on how to get em in the salt.
For rivers, cerise jig tipped with prawn....
Don't forget that blackmouth are almost/already are legal for retention in local PS waters....I'm pumped!

Marine areas 8-1 & 8-2 are closed to chum retention until November 1st. 9 is open.
Skagit river is closed for retention.
Main stem Stilly is open but "chrome" chum are rarer than hens teeth as the fish ripen and turn out in the bay. Decent biters but nothing I'd ever take home.
Snohomish is open and the chum are a lot brighter than in the Stilly.
Skykomish is open but again the fish have turned from bright silver to purple/brown/green with major teeth.
To each his own on what they drag home.

I live kinda by there, I would love a walk-in guide gpc! How long of a leader are you running?
I'd love to catch them on a pink work curado- I have like 3 packs for steelhead that are just sitting in my tackle box. :bounce:
