Say, that's kinda sneaky taking off your coat and turning the fish around to make us think you caught two big ones. ha.

Go easy on yourself friend. Just because you don't catch pike as well as some of us, that doesn't make you a below average pike fisherman. [laugh] [laugh] [laugh] [flapper]

Well the good news is my average pike for the year is 26.5"... But I have only caught one fish this year. Well here's to a great pike year in 2015. Looking forward to increasing my average fish and numbers as well as seeing all of your fish for the year!!

if you would spend a little more time on the water fishing and less time out saving the planet your numbers would go up. Lol

Added 6 more pike to my total for the year. That brings me to 15. I better get my act together. Lucious got that many in one day. Then again, he had to go to Devils lake to do it. LOL
Hopefully I will surge past him when we get to Last Mountain Lake in 2 weeks. There I should be able to give him a much needed fishing lesson and a good spanking. Shpanky shpanky Buddy. [flapper]

Yesterday was a decent day with one fish at 30" and a couple of 28"ers. The others were about 25 and nice and fat. The water is warming quickly. Up to 73 degrees in the chains I was in and I believe 63-64 in the main lake. They were hitting several diffrent baits but the most productive was the soft plastic frog. I only boated 6 pike but lost a few others. Should have been a 10 fish day [rolleyes]

Had a great trip to Last Mountain Lake last week with my younger brother and Lucious. I caught 143 pike over 6 days plus a short 3 hour trip the day we arrived. I'll make a full report later but here a re a few photos for now.
I had 15 when I left+143 over the last week, brings me to 158 for the year. I would say we should keep the talley limited to local area fish so I will say these 143 fish don't count.

Those are some healthy, nice looking fish. I'm glad that the trip was productive, and I hope your arms are recovering! I look forward to hearing the stories sometime soon.

Now don't let AJ's dad fool you....he killed it. 7 pike 40 inches or longer with his longest being the " anomaly " 44 inch freak. Plus the last day he caught 45 pike!!! You know i thought I was going to tweak out better numbers, but he beat me like i stole something. I miss last mountain already!!!

And as far as the numbers go, I am going to have to disagree with the local waters thing because if that were the case, I would have 0 pike this year....cause all my pike came from out of state...

I just returned from Idaho pike fishing and landed 33 pike in 3 days. Little guys, though, with 24" being the biggest. That brings my total to 42 for this year. Sure beats17 days running muskie fishing without a tally or even a bite! The jointed snakegrass( I call it "wireweed") is sure getting terrible in the chain lakes. Its smothering the cabbage and making getting to the pike much harder. Sure hope it runs its course and diminishes.

OK if you insist. I have 158 pike on the year so far. I didn't get out this weekend like I thought I would. Next weekend however should be a diffrent story.

Put 11 more pike in the boat on saturday. That brings me to 169 on the year. Weed rockets were biting but nothing big or worth taking photos of.

Yep, same problem I had. I tried a little deeper off the weeds and still little ones. I wonder if the bigger guys don't like the 76 degree water and head down the river to the big lake?
