Glad you had a good time!!!!

Snakes, where do I start.... First off they're very beautiful creatures, extremely timid, well camo'ed. They'll do anything they can to avoid you. All they want to do is eat a mouse or a rat. The stick is a good idea, they'll head the other way. Normally all you have to do is walk and the vibrations are enough to get them to move. Understand, snakes have no ears, they have to feel you walking. I never worry about snakes, I consider it a great gift when I can see one.
Build a man a fire and he's warm for the night. Light a man on fire and he's warm the rest of his life!

Yea. They are very pretty. Anytime I see nature like that I stay clear. I'll find another path to take. What we have in Ea Wa which can be confused with the Rattler is a Bull Snake. They are harmless big snakes. The couple snakes I plinked were eaten that night. Its not to my liken . It was descent just not my kind of eating. We were up at the Omak Stampede area.Lots o' snakes up there. Potholes has alot too.

I've gone to the stampede for 13 years and still the only one i've seen was in chelan area. We thought at first that it musta been a bull so I went and googled them and decided it was indeed a rattler. although I had a buddy who killed a huge one in chelan last year and took a picture of it too. I've heard stories, but other than the one I just haven't seen many myself.

If i'm fishing I just stick to trails mostly (shorts...) and if i'm hunting I worry less as i'm wearing long pants and the weather is colder, but I always am aware of the possibility out in the desert.
