New Fishing Licenses!

Post by the1fishingpro » Thu Sep 27, 2007 7:25 pm

How do you guys feel about the new fishing licenses this year. How they changed hard paper to Receipt? I found it kind of weird at first, but I figured that they made it that way so that you can place it in your wallet easier. I think it was a great idea. The best part is... If you lose or get your fishing license wet or ruined, you can go almost anywhere that sells one and get another for free. At least thats what I've heard. So howz about you guys, what are your thoughts?
If in doubt set the hook!

One thing that I'm slightly confused to upset at is the fact that they switched to this new Crab catch card scheme, but the place I got my license from had no idea about it and it didn't get printed (I did pay the crab fee). So, I have to send them in a letter telling them that I didn't catch any crab the first 1/2 of the year (was supposed to go out with a buddy to get some, but didn't). Seems that there's some process / software that wasn't updated out there.

I like the new licenses. The new idea of the parking permit is good, however, I am constantly forgeting to hang up the mirror hanger#-o
I may be wrong, but I think the license is printed on waterproof paper. It has that feel at least.

I was just thinking today, trying to fill out the salmon punch card, that I didn't like them.
My license is fading. I can still see what it says but it is fading.
I couldn't get the pen to work on the paper of the punch card when it was wet from the misty weather.
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

I agree with Toni if th paper is just a bit moist it's harder than heck to write on your salmon punch.Plus they fade really quick, and when you try to go get it replaced well atleast at my local wal mart they want to charge for a new license.I had to get the local game warden innvolved to have them print me a replcement, without charging me since they are not suppose to charge you to replace a faded license.Just a bit of info and my two cents.#-o

Not sure if that is caused by the paper or the ink in the pen. Might try out one of those fancy pens you can write in the rain with...might help. They are a little on the spendy side, but may be worth keeping one in the tackle box.

I like the parking permits, but my first one bleached out in the sun. I think its the paper or the way they are printed. I had to buy another one this year.

that was my first thought was that they would bleach out from the sun when i had gotten mine, it'll only take a few times in direct sun to fade out. will they ticket you for not having one that is in readable condition!!!

I usually keep mine in the glove box unless I am actually parking somewhere that it is needed. Since replacing it, I am very careful to park where there is no direct sunlight hitting it (if I can)

They probably won't ticket you, if you are there and you have a fishing license. But if you are out on the boat when they come around, they might. It's an easy way to fill their quota without confronting "the offender." Remember that the majority of their job is revenue collection.
