Some people think it's fake, but if so it'll come out sooner or later.

One person thinks it is this;

"The bird appears to be an eastern imperial eagle. Native from eastern europe to asia. Note the white patches on the back of wings and white head.

Another person says;

"It could happen as there are documented cases in the 1800's.
Also, I looked frame by frame from 0:10 to 0:16 and it is totally fake. The shadow is completely wrong and I am pretty certain that the white obelisk behind the "event" is the bird's handler.
Another case of: I saw/read it on the internet, it must be true. "

There's one up at Reiter that's been practicing, haven't seen him succeed yet, but have seen him scare the crap out of some anglers as he swoops down from behind them to try for the fish they are fighting. Pretty funny site to see a guy with a bent pole in one hand while frantically waving the other to try and scare him off. [woot]
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Oh yea, that eagle is a riot. Although I have seen him take fish off a stringer before, and had him chase my stuff like crazy. Although I'm not certain it's always the same one either, we were out on the jet from Sulatn up past the wallace flats and about every 300 yards was another couple of eagles. We did see this MASSIVE bald eagle just chillin by the mouth of the wallace picking at some guts, follwed by a murder of crows that were harrasing him. This time of year they're everywhere.

Sometimes it takes teamwork to keep the eagles off your fish. On the sound we have to throw rocks at seals, in the mountains it's eagles! They are really cool looking though, seals are just snorty.

I've seen sea-lions get quite aggressive. I was fighting a large silver out by the shipwreck when a sea-lion bit my fish in half. I caught a head with entrails. I loaded up the wrist rocket and nailed one. He came after my boat barking and squeeling. I got the heck out of there quickly. It kept swimming near my boat. It was only a 15' Duroboat .
