Anybody know anything about Shortwave radio..?

Does anybody on here dabble in shortwave radio? I am all jacked up over antique tube radios, specifically the Hallicrafters SX-28a model.
Curious to chat with anybody who is involved with these things. I just lost an ebay auction by 2 bucks! to those darn automated bidding cornputers. I hate that stuff. It used to be that you went in with the "Sniper bid" in the last 10 seconds of the auction.. damage was done, and you left with the item. Now you never know who is lurking out there with the automated bid stuff. Uhg!! No sense of honor any more in a straight up auction!
