Colors you associate with fish, a survey

Post by ruthven78 » Thu Apr 09, 2015 10:00 pm

Thought this would be a fun experiment.....

what color do you associate with various species of fish

Bass (all types)
panfish (perch, crappie, bluegill)
Trout (all types)
Salmon (all types)
Muskie/Tigermuskie
Walleye
Pike
catfish (all types)

You have these colors to choose from, and can only use a color once:

Yellow
Red
Light Blue
Green
Orange
Brown
Lime Green
Hot Pink
Purple
Dark Blue
Light Brown
Black

brown -crayfish
grey - trout
green - perch
white - something easy to see and moving
pink - bloody fish
black - crayfish, sculpin, baby catfish --- yes I've caught a Largie with a baby catfish in it's belly, about 5 years ago.
red - bloody fish
purple - something to eat
blue - same
yellow - perch

Bass, Largies and Smallies = all of the above.

lol, not what you would catch the species on, just a color association to the species in general....like when you look at a bass what color to you associate with it, green?

Or like when you look at black, what species of fish would you associate to it?

Remember, you can only use a color once

You really need to add chartreuse to the color selection. I can't think of walleye or steelhead for that fact, and not have chartreuse come to mind.

Bass (all types) - Brown
panfish (perch, crappie, bluegill) - White
Trout (all types) - Pink
Salmon (all types) - Green
Muskie/Tigermuskie - n/a
Walleye - Yellow\Chartreuse
Pike - n/a
catfish (all types) - Black

Oh darn. I wasn't thinking of the color of the fish, I was thinking of what color can CATCH the fish that I fish for, and what those colors represent TO the Bass. [laugh]
