Northwest Fishing Reports

Hi,

I am a new member to this forum. My parents just recently relocated here from Alabama. I am trying to find fishing locations that they can navigate easily. They both have mobility issues, but can walk short distance,please no stairs, slippery, or rocky areas. Shore fishing or dock fishing ideal and hopefully not to far from Olympia, Wa area. Dad says, want to catch some fish too!

You might try using the Lake Index here and look for lakes in your area. The discriptions under "info" usually give a good idea of accessibility. good luck!

Thank you BentRod, I hadn't noticed the "info" link. It is helpful. Has anyone fished Hart's Lake Resort, out near Eatonville?

Dezzarae: I haven't but if you click Reports at the top of the page, then Lake Reports, lakes are listed alphabetically. You will find photos for each, a description, size, species, things to be aware of, etc. Then you can look through all the reports submitted for that lake, giving you an idea of what people catch, how and when. I didn't notice a dock at Hart's, which might be ideal if they can bring some camping chairs. A lake up my way, Leland, in Jefferson County has a nice sized dock, and fishing for rainbow trout from it is pretty good, particularly this time of year, and it is open year round. Good Luck.

Thank you very much for you suggestions and help with navigating the site. Hart's does look like a good possibility. I plan to take my parents on the 101, Olympic Peninsula Loop drive in May/June. We could stop at Leland and check it out. Best of luck to you too.

Check out Offutt lake, Thurston county. Big dock at the resort

Mineral Lake in Thurston county has good Hdcp parking for shore fishing . Mineral is a nice lake to fish.

There is a handi-cap ramp at both the Barrier Dam and Blue Creek hatcheries. The summer run of steelhead at blue creek is going to start up here any day now.
