Sea run fly and tackle shop coquitlam bc

What an honest, ethical business they are. Above and beyond my expectations.

A few months back i bought my resident bc fishing license there along with the salmon stamp and steelhead stamp. The other day a friend and i were on our way back from fishing and a conservation officer stops us and asks to see our fishing licenses.

Long story short, it turned out that even though i am a permanent resident (permanent residency card) bearing resident that i wasnt allowed to have a bc resident fishing license, because i hadnt lived in canada for 6 months, only 5 months -___-

So he wrote me a ticket, i had mentioned after that that i am an ethical angler, never remove my fish from the water, pick up litter and maintained that all my non baited lures and flies were barb free. After examining my gear and finding that i was telling the truth, (although ian actually picked up more trash than i did. I did pick up a wad of monofilament) he decided to make a deal with me, if i fixed my license he would get rid of the ticket.

So the next day i went to sea run fly shop where i was sold the resident fishing license, they had never heard of this happen before and promptly engaged me in fixing the problem. I offered to pay the difference from a resident to non resident cost wise, they refused and said it was on them since they issued me the license. It was saturday however and service bc was closed so they had to wait until tuesday .(may long weekend)

So today i went in and they had my new license ready, free of charge to me, (they ate a pretty big charge), they took a copy of the old license and a copy of the card the officer gave me and told me if anything else came of this they would put in a word for me.

So being super impressed with their level of ethical business practice, i went to buy a hat from them, to which they then promtly denied me from paying for it.... Another $30... Nearly speachless at this point. I thanked them and promised id leave several good reviews for bc and american sites, telling the tale of how awesome this shop is. This is my 2nd review of the day, 2 more to go...

At this point ive scanned my new license to my email and forwarded to the officer who requested it, if he keeps his word this should resolve it.
hi my name is john, and I'm a fishing addict.

Unbelievable! I'd love to find a fly shop like that down here. The internet would be done for shopping. I'm glad moving North working out for you. I haven't been to the Port in years. Last time I was there I was making an ROV for treasure hunting. Pretty cool gig.
