Anyone hitting any of these rivers this weekend or have any recent reports, I might try the satsop, nooch and hump on our way to clam digging.

I was thinking of just the hump with not only late silvers but steelhead since they have 245 back now and stevens creek open saturday too, seems a little early on the nooch but might try black creek there and decker on the satsop.

I would also like to point out a few things here.

FF isnt so much a fisherman that likes to compete with others, hes more about helping others catch fish, and have a successful business. I dont think FF competes in the derbies, i may be wrong. BUT whos to say that if he did compete in the derbies, what are the chances that he would catch and 18-20 pounder the day(s) of the derby. Im sure he doesnt decide which days he wants to catch fish. Why does it matter if someone fishes by the hatchery? If theres 50 fish by the hatchery hole, and 2 fish a couple miles down river. are you gonna fish down river? I sure wouldnt.

I shall steer well clear of this one. These people seem to think just cause they see me at the hatchery creek on a high water day a few saturdays in a row that its the only place i catch fish, ever. Hahaha which is weird cause i post plenty of stuff to prove otherwise, vids too.

By the way in the 2011 derby if i woulda entered i woulda won the vedder derby then the next year i got a 2nd place fish the week after it ended... Maybe ill get lucky this winter!

I don't know why the issue about FF? I see him just about daily at the river and he does nothing wrong...and like fishbait thesecond said, He is always willing to help others. He catches fish, what is wrong with that? Seems like there are people that think just because he catches fish daily that it is easy and when they go to the cascade and can't catch a fish(it is much tougher this year then in the past, so far anyways)they start hateing on FF. There are a group of people or should say regulars that you see at the river just about daily(most of us don't show up on weekends)and everyone that I have talked with, have nothing bad to say about FF. Danny, just know that when you are really good at something, there will always be someone trying to knock you down. When they can't compete....well they just try and make you look bad. Keep up the good work FF.

Just to throw itout there I know FF is one of the best out there cause he has literally been there and done that. But I do not know who you have talked to good times but lots of people up there dislike him for guiding especially where clarks creek drops in, personally I do notreally care and if ever a guide took me to a hatchery intake pipe I would leave immediately, but if you are looking for your first steelhead then go with him for sure.I think the locals up there hate him because they think he brings the crowd and he might be part of it but it is also all the reports and other stuff too. yeah me and FF had a little argument or what ever you want to call it but it is for the most part resolved and done now.
Fishing should heat up on the cascade though now through christmas is prime time. Do you guys do good in january up o the cascade too, I don't really fish it much in january but I go in february and it is so slow then so I migh try it in january more instead.

I can understand that, although not a single one of my clients have i ever seen back up on river, and i go every day, because most guys i take are from way down south. Also, i give them the option to fish clark creek. I personally dont like it there, and have only fished with one client there, but when i tell a client that its pretty much automatic fish on in there and theyve never caught a steelhead, well, whos ever gonna turn that down. With that said, as marc can confirm, most of this steel season ive not even been guiding on the same side as the river as the hatchery, down by mouth and such to stay away from people

bingo, that spot should be for the guys that have not caught a steelhead before.Do you fish that slot right before the high bank on the other side of the hatchery downstream where a log is in the middle of the river, normally a dried up creek bed unless the river is high, I think I may have saw you there the day after thanksgiving after you were guiding but not sure, could have been someone else.

FF is a great guide and great fisherman IMO.And a cool guy!!! Haters are going to hate,just keep slayin FF. Do what you do!! Which is catching LOTS of fish!!
