Well mother nature cooperated and gave us some pretty good weather for the East side opening weekend.
I was also lucky enough to get out on the water both days. The water was cold, but the fishing was pretty good. I hit Amber on Saturday and Fish lake on Sunday. Amber was pretty good and Fish was crowded, but good as well.
I started this thread not to compete with the lake reports, but to see how many other fly fishers hit the water this weekend and to see where the hot spots are and aren't.

RE:Opening Weekend!!
It was a good weekend for fishing, that is for sure. It was great to feel the warm sun!
Saturday, I was invited to fish with a friend who is a member of a private lake southwest of Spokane. It was a very productive day on the water there. The fish were very active and feeding well with a large chironomid hatch coming off. Probably netted and released a dozen fish, all in the 17-18" range. A very enjoyable day.
On Sunday, Dave, Mike and I went out to Medical. The day started off fairly well, but slowed down in the mid afternoon. I had several on but lost them bringing them in. Netted about four in the 18" range, all rainbows. Mike did pretty well in the mid morning.
While at Medical, the Game Warden escorted about 6 fisherman, (a.k.a. poachers) back up to the parking lot after he had caught them fishing with bait off of the rock cliffs.
They are watching Medical very close this year.

RE:Opening Weekend!!
I had to work opening weekend, an incredible bummer considering it was the best weather we've experienced yet this year. Thank God the opener finally arrived...now those bait slingers don't have to poach Medical and Amber anymore, there's all kinds of water for them to fish now.
Although Marc and I witnessed several busts at Medical this year, the GWs barely put a dent in illegal fishing there. It got hammered as far as I could see....I visit it nearly every day.
What really amazes me is that folks are so incredibly stupid as to believe the cliffs will hide and protect them....as though several cars in the parking lot are not an indicator!!!
