know your fish

Post by Jhuynh2 » Wed Aug 31, 2011 4:23 pm

Going to the Puyallup, lots of people are saying they are catching silvers yet when you look at the fish closely, it looks nice and silvery, but it is a pink. Funny when people yell out loud, Silver but it's a pink.

silver has no spots on the tail, darker top, usually bigger, bigger scales and no hump
black tongue if I'm not correct
anyone else add to the difference?

The tail spots are not round and the scales are small in comparison to kings and silvers.

Pinks also do not have metallic striations on their tail like Kings and Coho do.

Coho have white gums and sometimes they do have spots on the upper part of the tail.
