How you can help with the Oso mudslide

Post by mizm05 » Thu Mar 27, 2014 8:00 am

Hey all,

We all know about the tragedy up in Oso...so how can we help our neighbors? I'll tell ya how. Of course you can donate money to the Red Cross or other relief organizations who are involved...but you can also provide much needed materials directly to the victims and rescue workers. If you use Amazon, that's the easiest way to ship items directly to the aerospace center up there (address below) and they will distribute the items where they are needed most.

Let's step up to the plate and help all involved. We would want the same if we were caught in a dire situation.

May the Lord be with everyone involved. Prayer never hurts either. [thumbsup]

Here is a list of things the volunteers need to continue their efforts at the slide scene:

Non-perishable food (everything) edit: I thought instant coffee would be good. Those guys/gals would probably love a cup of joe.

Baby items (diapers, baby formula)
Heavy duty work gloves
Shovels
Power saws
Work boots
Rain gear
Socks
Duct tape
Gas gift cards (no ATMs work in the area)
Tylenol
Ibuprofen
Chainsaw bar oil
Two-stroke oil
Gas in cans
You bring it, we'll get it up there.

You can ship, or drop off donations at:
Senior Aerospace AMT
20100 71st AVE N.E.
Arlington, WA. 98223

And personal care items would be good...I'm sure the volunteer rescue workers would appreciate a spare toothbrush, baby wipes, towels, etc.

You are absolutely right Mizm. Im sure they are getting plenty of water through relief aid and even some very select, bland snacks. Coffee is a special treat during those!

They only have Shell stations in town. So they need Shell gas cards. They also really need baby stuff...diapers, formula, jarred baby food...and the rescuers need chain saw bar oil, 2 stroke oil, and a host of other stuff. Here is where you can check the list...they are updating it. Thanks all.
