How to add image in a PM.

Post by The Quadfather » Mon Feb 08, 2010 7:47 am

My question is that when I send a PM to someone.. sometimes I want to add a picture. There is an icon located in the same line as where the icon for Bolding your text is located. When you hover on it, it says "Image"
If you click on this icon it puts there text "Img Img" on your page. So I'm not sure how you are supposed to get an image to the PM? I thought maybe if I cut/past something betweeen the Img Img,, but this doesn't work. What gives??

Also, is there any chance of getting a spell check on this same PM messaging page? Or do I not see it?

Thanks

I believe that in between the IMG tag you have to put a web address that the photo is located on, i.e. it can't be a file location on your computer.

spell check would require a forum upgrade and I don't know if that's even available, it's Aaron's area. You could ask him by PM if he doesn't see this post.

If you have an IMG, or Image, located on anoter server then you use IMG tag to point at it and it will show up.

When you see posts with:

Text
Pic
Text
another pic
ans so on...

They are using the IMG tag. Otherwise all the pics added to a post just stack togeather.

I want to show you one of my pics from my personal web site, but I dont want to download it then upload it here. I'll use the IMG Tag like this

"(img) (/img)"

Insert the link to the pic in question - "http://fieldcustomdesigns.com/homeweb/2 ... resize.jpg"

Like This

"(img)http://fieldcustomdesigns.com/homeweb/2 ... .jpg(/img)"

and is should show up

Image

NOTE: You need to use the[] brackets for it to work, I just used () to make the example visible.

Thanks Rich and Mike. I was thinking that I should be able to take a pic. from own hard drive. But I see that it is for a link between the img.... img.

As you are Premium Member, you can create photo galleries and store fishing images on your Blog, then open two browsers at once, use one to enter the IMG brackets in the PM, and the other to open the photo you want to add, just copying the URL for the IMG tag.
