:chef: He passed on it.
Look for Wannafish A Lure on FaceBook

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

Put your man card on the table and exit the building sir.

I have a problem with not asking before I buy. I keep a seperate savings for fun.

It's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is permission.
Man up put your balls on and go get your new boat. And while you're at...Make sure it's a "brand new" boat just to prove a point.

I agree with Mike a little although I think a good marrige is more about trust.
So...Let her trust that you're the man in the relationship.

Dude, there's nothing wrong with buying your wife a ring. It'll probably hold it's value better than any boat.

Now, if she's talking about an equivalant amount and the boat you want is up there in price, say 11K, then that's kind of not realistic. A ring could be easily lost, you can't lose a bass boat (unless you take it out during sea-fair or opening day).

How much was the boat anyhow?

The boat i'm looking at is only about $10K. The rings she's been looking at have been 4-5K.#-o

My take on this is this.

If you love her and really and I mean really want to spend the rest of your life with her than keep her happy. BUT if she is starting with this, next it will be if you want any tonight you won't go fishing, then is all down hill from there.

If you guys share a checking acount now and she controls your money already well then you might be SOL. Eitherway if you want the boat man up and buy it. You aren't married yet.

I am and I made a deal with my wife and I will be buying my boat once we buy a house. So for now I am looking for a good used sit on top kayak to hold me over for a couple years and for that time I will be a boat hoe on a couple peoples boats.

Wait a minute - you get a BOAT for giving her a ring??!! Man I should have negotiated better!#-o
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

I got EVERYTHING I could ever have wanted and more. And I have 4 different boating vessels. Not bragging, just saying - chose wisely and you can have it all. The boat is the icing on the cake, but like icing, it was added last, not first. :farao:

Buy the ring, because after the cost of the wedding, kids for the next 20+years, clothes, food, child care, school tuition, medical bills and everything else that goes along with the "contract", you'll be so poor you won't be able to put gas in the boat or insure it.[scared]

Or.............. buy the boat and bag the wedding.[laugh]

not to mention the free time and energy will go down so low that fishing will become a distant memory and an infrequent indulgement, LOL.

Thats why Mike is "Supreme Overlord". Mike your points come from a true gentleman.I never had brothers just sisters. A very nice ring or jewlery makes her feel good and adds to the trust and love in a relationship.Get her a nice ring and then get a boat. You can always get a boat but you cant always get a great wife.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.
