Where to take my 6 yr old?

Post by ruthven78 » Sun Jun 26, 2011 3:08 am

Friday afternoon I showed my oldest how to cast his bait casting pole. He was an instant natural consistantly casting shots that would nearly rival myself! So now he wants to go fishing where he can cast his own pole.

I told him that tomorrow, when he wakes up he can come wake me up, and we will go fishing...I might end up with a 5am wake up call!

So we will be still fishing from a shore or dock, or in a row boat with bait & lures, just not sure where to go.

I know Klink's does fairly well and was considering taking him there but dont know what time they open acess to the docks. And not sure if I want to rent a row boat or just fish off the docks.

Horseshoe Lake in Spokane Co. might be good cause I used to catch em there easily and we may end up with the lake to ourselves (fishing from shore) and should be easy for him to cast there.

Jump off Joe does pretty good from their docks.

Any other good resorts out there where dock fishing is good or can rent a row boat for cheap?

Him and I did West Medical once and didnt catch anything.

I don't know if it is too far, but Rufus has been ON FIRE the past month. From the shore, or from boat, doesn't seem to matter. Powerbait from shore right up near the pens works great. Fish average 6lbs and top to 15 lbs. From the reports I have heard it is the best it has been in, well.... ever. haha

I took him to Klinks and since the dock was busy, we rented a row boat...they only give you 40feet of rope for the anchor....at Williams Lake that is just retarded. And so since I had to spend most of my time rowing to either keep us still or to move around, he outfished me lol. he caught an 11" and 12" rainbow and I caught a 3" one lol. will send the report in later.
