opinions on p-line

Post by FishBaitThe2nd » Fri Jul 20, 2012 5:19 pm

Hey guys, i was wondering whats your opinion on p-line? I used it yesterday for silvers, it casts smooth and evrything. i caught a 7-8 pound silver, i was using 15lb line. Is it pretty durable line? thanks

The CX in 8 and 10 and 15 work great for me on my spinning reels. The knot holds better and longer than with mono and Seaguar line, and not as much stretch as Seaguar or mono. Seaguar has as much stretch as mono.

In my experience, it tends to have a little more stretch to it than maxima, which is what i normally use. As a result, I find it more difficult to detect those really soft takes with pline. Other than that, I like it a lot.

the p-line extra strong is really strong, like for skok kings it would be cool because 20 ln pline xtra strong is like 25-26 pound test. However, the normal CX premium line, in my experience is too weak and frays and knicks to easy, i found my 12 pound pline cx premium mainline breaking before my 8lb maxima leader. Personally, unless using xtra strong for bigger fish, id stick with maxima

bluegill are SERIOUS fighters you get them on light tackle they can peel just as much line as a king in the right conditions, too bad theres no real gill fishery around here... shucks!

What kind of line where you using on your spirex at the Skok? 20 pound Berkely Big Game. I have a female friend that doesnt use a baitcaster and wants to use a spinning reel. I told her braid wasnt a good idea in a combat zone like the Skok.

Yeah with my spirex i have it spooled with 20 lb berkely, holds about 100 yards of it or so and gets the job done. Braid isnt a good thing at the skok, lol.

FF, whered you get a 77 inch chinook at?

I didnt enter my bluegill in for a record, i weighed it an measured it, the threw it over the fire. My uncle and i were out camping at a lake surviving on fish that we caught lol
