Hi All!,
I am new to Seattle and just came yesterday for a one month visit to Seattle. I have done a lot of Chinook and Coho + trout fishing in canada, ontario, before I came. I had a ton of chinook roe in my fridge but obviously I couldn't bring that with me for drift fishing so I brought some rapalas and spoons. I have some floats so I could try drift fishing although it isnt as much fun without my float rod and reel..

3 questions:

1. I am in Seattle near Larsen lake so where would be a decent spot to fish for my stay here from shore without waders?
2. Are there any good tackle stores around for bait?
3. What kind of bait or tackle is commonly used in Seattle?

1. I am in Seattle near Larsen lake so where would be a decent spot to fish for my stay here from shore without waders? the duwamish is the place to fish in seattle right now.

2. Are there any good tackle stores around for bait? search online for sportco outdoor emporium I believe it is the same store one is in fife and the other is in seattle I never been to it I know it is south of down town seattle..
3. What kind of bait or tackle is commonly used in Seattle? A lot of different methods used on that system I do not fish it enough that low to give you a valid answer. but in this thread people tell you how the fish were caught. Good Luck!

Thanks to friends and oneshot, this big ol buck came home for dinner today. Funnest fight I have had in a long time, this guy jumped, ran, took line, teased, even had me ramming the whole rod under the boat a few times to keep from breaking him off. Came in at 10# cleaned but thought he was a few more. I will post a report later, but lets just say I am now a believer in Wee Dick Nites.. [thumbup]

I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

awesome~!!!!!

way to go!! takes a little time to figure out how to fish those things and what to feel for.. Personally, the best battles i ever get, come from fishing dick nites.. just no resistance from tackle i guess.. all fish fighting fun!

I got a 20lb chum on a wee 50/50 today.. hahahaha~!! on the Snoho..

u guys got some pretty awesome fish there. Seems like roe is working well for most..I wish I had brought mine :( from the google map images I am seeing the water levels are quite low so night fishing must be the bomb.

yep. Are they migrating here to spawn? That was the case in canada for us. They came from far just to spawn and basically stayed in deep pools to prepare for winter.
