Solution. Flourocarbon. 10 or 12 lb flouro, going light is tough cause summers are HOT and can break light leaders with the explosiveness

I fish 6lb flouro for summers at the cowlitz but early in the season summer runs are super aggressive will take anything, last year I had one take a huge gob of eggs on 17lb mono leader and a 2/0 hook

I've heard that works. I've never tried flouro much, not a big fan of it. I do fine on 8lb main and 6lb leader. Then again, the main river I fish for summers is really small.

I'll fish six lb. as well when it gets really low, and I almost never break off. 8 lb. is my go-to though, I hook more fish with it than I do with 10. If you have a smooth drag on your reel and you aren't fishing a super heavy/stiff rod, you typically won't break off unless you get wrapped around something or you are just being careless.

No....On the way to the river I got really sick....I'm still sick, and I can't fish for at least another 10 days cause of that. Oh well, didn't miss out on much. The river was pretty high.

yeah that must be nice, my school has another week and a half till we get out. Seems like wednesdays are pretty good fishing days for me, always catch fish at the cowlitz, cascade, and bogy on a wednesday.
