boat, tube anything to get away from shore.. well unless you're in midst of a salmon run on the river.. bumper boats can be a fun and interesting topic too..

I typically prefer alone time when fishing so I'd move on to the next spot, personally. Same applies when I'm in a boat. I usually dont look for the crowd (even though there is a reason why they are crowding usually).

Yeah I am curious as to how bad it will be on the Duwi this year. it will be my first year on a toon. I plan on anchoring up and pitching jigs and those tiny dick nites. Should be interesting

haven't had anyone stay around more than 10 minutes and not give me my space.
now thats funny

Ohhh how I loved crowded beaches when I was doing some fishing. Most people do not understand that when you go fishing your trying to get away, you do not want dogs running around or babies throwing rocks into the water. The only way to avoid it is to find your own spot of peace and quiet. That's why I got a boat! The only ones that get in your way or harass you in a boat are the Indians. And oh boy do I love pissing off the indians

The Duwie is a peacefull river most of the times. The homeless have been squatting under bridges and in the woods. I took kids last year for silvers from shore and the homeless people were a little bit disgusting. Given their circumstances I try to overlook their unclean habits.

I have never fished the Duwie, but plan on taking my toon down this year so that I can avoid the circus- C/F - that will be the puyallup. Looking at some maps, and google earth I plan on dropping in at either at the Waterway park or Cecil Moses Memorial Park and meander around. And if i can find a partner with a toon or small boat then float between the two. I have absolutely no idea if that area is going to be fishable but figure the only way to find out is to go and wet a line.

I'll warn you fishing from the tube, there is quite a bit of animosity from the shore bound to the water craft. Get a little too close and they start casting at your gear and if you have a fish on look out they try snag your line and haul the fish to the beach. Best approach is to fish where there are no bankies.
Build a man a fire and he's warm for the night. Light a man on fire and he's warm the rest of his life!

Thanks for the heads up

I planned on trying to find a spot with the fewest people and or boats. Do not know if that will be possible or not. But watching Oneshots videos from last year shows that it just might be.

Unfortunately the best spots (close to the salt) also have the most guys fishing from the shore. Hit from the big bend up towards Boeing and you should be good. Most of the heavy concentration is at the big bend.
