Lake Goodwin (Wenberg Park) Increased Launch Fees

Post by dutchman2858 » Mon Jan 18, 2016 8:20 pm

Just a heads up. Went to launch at the Wenberg Park ramp at Lake Goodwin in Snohomish County this morning and discovered the County raised the launch fee from $7 to $10.

And you still have to walk back up that hill. Amazing how down is only a few hundred yards but after fishing all day its about two miles back up. LOL Looks like they are going to start some construction on better parking according the the permit signs on the side of the road.

Check out the Mercer Is. launch on Lake WA. I think about 4 years ago, even then it might have been $13.00

Or Gene Coulon Park in Renton for $17-ish for non residents, may have already gone up again. Or Lk Sammamish $17 with out the Discover pass. And how could we forget the launch across the East Channel from the MI launch, at Newport Shores last check in the summer was $15 if I remember right.

Last I heard Coulon was $20, and that was quite a few years ago, 20 years??. Newport was $11, and that was 5/6 years ago.

I was last at Coulon last January and winter rate was $17, I say -ish because they are trying to drive away all but Renton residents, pretty sure they will be raising rates till the darn outsiders stop coming.

$10 - resident, use to be $2, so I was told by a club member that lived in Renton at the time.

$20 non resident, use to be $5, then $7, then $15 and so on.

Well there ya go . They did raise the price. Last winter they had an off season rate in the winter. All they ever got from me was the resident fee. I'm thinking it was too much trouble to run the plates on the 4 rigs in the lot.

I didn't know they had a winter rate, but then I haven't fished WaWa during the winter since the mid '90s. [blink]

I know you don't chase the wild trout but its best fished in LKWA in the winter when the gin palaces and ski boats are safely resting waiting for warmer weather, same for Samm but no gin palaces. The big (er) fish come out to play when the water is cooler.

Ya, the water lice in the summer keep skiing thru where I like to fish.
